ShanghaiTech provides students with various exciting study abroad opportunities at more than ten universities around the world, including University of California-Berkeley, Harvard University, MIT, Yale University, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, University of Pennsylvania, and University of Oxford.
Basically there are two types of study abroad programs: 3+1 Program for undergraduate students, which refers to semester-long program at a partner university abroad, and the short-term programs for both undergraduate and graduate students such as summer sessions, summer research, and academic visits.
From 2015, totally 188 undergraduate students participated in the 3+1 program and 408 undergraduate students participated in the summer sessions. Students are increasingly interested in gaining research experience in a university abroad. At the same time, ShanghaiTech is also ready to host foreign students coming for exchange study.
