To expand and enhance further collaboration between ShanghaiTech and Elsevier, a delegation led by Kumsal Bayazit, Chief Executive Officer of Elsevier, and Lynn Li (Li Lin), Managing Director of Elsevier Greater China, visited ShanghaiTech University on September 8. Vice President Jiang Ge, along with professors and a number of representatives from administrative offices, attended the reception.
During the meeting, Jiang Ge extended a warm welcome to Kumsal Bayazit and her delegation, opening with an introduction to ShanghaiTech’s development, international collaborations, research achievements, innovation and entrepreneurship, as well as its existing partnership with Elsevier.
Bayazit, in response, expressed her admiration for ShanghaiTech’s remarkable achievements over the past decade and provided a concise overview of Elsevier’s history, global initiatives and future vision. Following these introductory remarks, both parties engaged in substantive discussions covering a range of topics, including talent attraction and development, the evolving landscape of international research cooperation, and others.
Bayazit expressed Elsevier’s willingness to leverage its expertise in data resources and AI technology to support ShanghaiTech’s ongoing innovation and growth. Both parties expressed their interest in future collaboration.
Before the meeting, the delegation visited the XFEL facility, abbreviated as SHINE, which is managed by ShanghaiTech and is under construction.
