On November 24, the International Session on Biomed of the 6th ShanghaiTech Innovation and Entrepreneurship Summit (techIES) took place in the University Auditorium, adopting a hybrid format. Leaders from the Shanghai Clinical Research and Trial Center, Office of Tech Transfer, and Office of International Affairs (OIA) attended the event. Dr. Nie Yan, Deputy Director of OIA, delivered an opening speech and hosted the competition.
The International Session focuses on biomedicine, biomedical engineering and intelligent healthcare, drew participation from projects originating in six countries and regions. During the competition, each team showcased their innovative technologies or products with good transfer prospects through roadshow videos. In the following Q&A session, a panel comprising investors and senior executives from prominent venture capital firms and ShanghaiTech professors engaged in discussions with the contestants online, providing valuable comments.
Following live voting, three projects from the United States, Hong Kong SAR and Singapore won the first, second and third prizes respectively. Marking the success of the 2nd International Session, this event has further bolstered ShanghaiTech’s international standing in the realm of innovation and entrepreneurship.
