On the afternoon of April 12, Teng Jin-Guang, President of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU), visited ShanghaiTech University. Jiang Mianheng, President of ShanghaiTech University, met with the delegation led by President Teng.
President Jiang extended a warm welcome to the PolyU delegation at the meeting. Following the introduction of each university’s vision, mission and general information, both parties exchanged ideas around student cultivation, talent recruitment, and technology transfer. This visit was an important opportunity to launch further cooperation, and both parties plan to jointly promote the development of regional higher education and technological innovation, aiming for more fruitful cooperative projects in the future.

Following the meeting, the PolyU delegation toured the Brain and Intelligence Development Laboratory at the School of Biomedical Engineering (BME) and the Multidisciplinary Artificial Reality Studio (MARS) at the School of Information Science and Technology (SIST). Shen Dinggang, Founding Dean of BME, and Yu Jingyi, Vice Provost and Executive Dean of SIST led the introduction and demonstration for the guests.
Since July 1, 2019, Teng Jin-Guang has served as the President of PolyU. This visit was his first to ShanghaiTech, accompanied by Executive Vice President Miranda Lou, Vice President Christopher Chao, Associate Vice President Dong Cheng, and other representatives. The ShanghaiTech leadership in the meeting included Executive Vice President and Provost Yin Jie, Vice Provost, Deputy Dean of the School of Physical Science and Technology, Director of the Center for Transformative Science, Liu Zhi, Academic Dean of the School of Entrepreneurship and Management, Mao Jiye, and leaders of administration offices.
Located in Kowloon, Hong Kong, PolyU is a public research university consisting nine faculties including Business, Construction and Environment, Design, Engineering, Fashion and Textiles, Health and Social Sciences, Hotel and Tourism Management, Humanities, and Science. Its programs and research are application-oriented and maintain close ties with the business and industry realm.
