Abstract:
The need for reliable catalysts and methods for efficient and stereoselective formation of C-C bonds, and in particular reactions that generate quaternary carbon stereocenters, represents an important and difficult challenge in chemical synthesis. This lecture will focus on our recent progress in catalytic site- and stereoselective olefin and carbonyl coupling reactions. Through the choice of different metal-based catalysts and strategies, it will be demonstrated that practical and robust protocols have been developed with a range of simple organoboron reagents, which allow for efficient and stereoselective assembly of organic molecules.
