Recently, Associate Professor Liang Junrui at the School of Information Science and Technology (SIST) has been elected as a Fellow of American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME).
ASME was founded in 1880. It is an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, an advocacy organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global. As of July 2024, ASME has 70,529 members from more than 135 countries worldwide. Only 3,365 of them were elected as ASME Fellows. Up to now, about 30 ASME Fellows are working at universities or research institutions in the Chinese Mainland.
Liang Junrui joined ShanghaiTech University in 2013. He works on interdisciplinary research topics, such as ambient energy harvesting, mechatronics, battery-free Internet of Things, power electronics, power management integrated circuits, structural dynamics, and structural health monitoring.
