Biography:
Jia Weiping is an Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Chair Professor at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Chief Physician at Shanghai Sixth People’s Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, Director of the Shanghai Diabetes Institute, President of the Institute for Proactive Healthcare at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Director of the National Office for Primary Diabetes Care, Chief Editor of the Chinese Journal of Internal Medicine, Board Member of the Chinese Medical Association, and Board Member of the Asian Association for the Study of Diabetes (AASD).
Prof. Jia has been dedicated to the research and management of precise diagnosis and treatment of diabetes, early warning and screening, pathogenesis, and preventive engineering. She has received numerous national and provincial-level awards for scientific and technological progress, the Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation Science and Technology Progress Award, the C.C. Tan Clinical Medicine Award, the Wu Jieping–Paul Janssen Medical & Pharmaceutical Award, and the Distinguished Research Award for Epidemiology of Diabetes in Asia.
