简介(Brief Introduction):
报告人简介:
Lakshminarayana Polavarapu is the principal investigator at the Centro De Investigaciones Biomédicas (CINBIO), University of Vigo, Spain. He obtained PhD in 2011 from the National University of Singapore and received the Alexander von Humboldt postdoctoral fellowship in 2015 at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University of Munich (Germany). He Joined University of Vigo, Spain in 2020. His group’s research focuses on shape-controlled synthesis and self-assembly of metal and semiconductor nanocrystals to explore their optical properties and optoelectronic applications.

讲座摘要:
Over the last 7-8 years, lead halide perovskite nanocrystals (LHP NCs) have emerged as extremely efficient light sources with color-tunable capability by simple chemistry. LHP NCs exhibit very high photoluminescence quantum yields regardless of the synthesis conditions and the quality of the precursors owing to their defect tolerance nature (especially the Br and I-based). The light emission of LHP NCs is not only tunable by their dimensions and composition but also through self-assembly into ordered architectures. Interestingly, LHP NCs spontaneously self-assemble into superlattices and exhibit interesting optical properties. For instance, they emit circularly polarized light when the particles are assembled into chiral architectures. Similarly, when colloidal perovskite nanoplatelets are assembled into superlattices, they emit linearly polarized emission. This talk will be focused on the self-assembly of LHP NCs to generate interesting optical features ranging from amplified spontaneous emission to linearly- and circularly polarized emission with high dissymmetry factors.
