报告人简介：
Huan-Ming Huang initiated radical chemistry research at Zhejiang University of Technology, then pursued his PhD at The University of Manchester under the supervision of Prof. David Procter, where he explored radical cascade reactions. Subsequently, he relocated to Germany as a Humboldt Research Fellow, collaborating with Prof. Frank Glorius to investigate radical transformations via transition metal catalysis. In 2021, Huan-Ming joined ShanghaiTech University as a Principal Investigator, establishing a research group dedicated to radical chemistry. His team focuses on photochemical rearrangements, heteroatom-involved radical reactions, metallaphotoredox catalysis, and the application of radicals in materials science and chemical biology. Huan-Ming is currently teaching Fundamentals of Organic Chemistry and Radical Chemistry.

Radical chemistry has established itself as a transformative paradigm in modern synthesis, fundamentally reshaping strategies in both pharmaceutical development and advanced materials science. While the exceptional reactivity of radical species enables powerful bond-forming transformations, it simultaneously poses the central challenge of our discipline: achieving precise control over the selectivity and reactivity of these transient intermediates.
Through systematic investigation over the past four years, my research team has developed a suite of innovative strategies to harness radical reactivity. In this presentation, I will elucidate our scientific journey – from fundamental mechanistic discoveries to practical methodologies that are expanding the frontiers of radical chemistry.
